Research Student

Lara Biller graduated from the University of Manchester in 2022, with an MSci in Neuroscience. There, she completed a research project using flicker-tagging and EEG to investigate frequency reactivations under the supervision of Dr Jason Taylor. She then worked as a research assistant in the Breathe Oxford lab with Professor Kyle Pattinson, utilising a novel virtual reality cycling paradigm to explore perceptions of breathlessness.

Following that, she joined as a research assistant in the Physiological Neuroimaging Group (PiNG) led by Professor Charlotte Stagg, where she supported multiple studies using non-invasive brain stimulation to investigate motor learning. In 2025, she began a DPhil under the supervision of Dr Polytimi Frangou, using different non-invasive techniques to manipulate cholinergic signalling. She hopes this research will provide useful insights for future therapeutic work to help people with Parkinson’s.
